There’s a new AI/ML workflow-enhancer in town, and it’s brought to life not by a team of developers, but by an artist like you and me. Our guest this week is Eric Levy, a VFX artist who has leveraged some 3d head tracking ML models to create a standalone app that analyzes footage and spits out a working head track in no time. In the process of optimizing the workflow, he ended up also creating an OFX he calls WrapIt, which allows us to UV Unwrap tracked alembic geometry in a handful of applications, including of course, Flame.

Eric offers a service on his site: http://headcase3d.com where you send him your footage and he sends you back the Alembic / UVMap, but he’s nearly cracked the code on how to package up the models and make them available via an app. We’ll have more details on a limited time beta during the show, so stay tuned to potentially test it out for yourself.
